Recreational diving Hobby
The recreational diving is a
type of diving performed with the aim of exploring and fun. It is a term
generally used in opposition to "technical diving", another type of
diving that requires more training, experience and equipment.
New technical developments have reduced the cost and
physical effort required to use the equipment. The recreational diving has
become a popular activity, much less restricted to sports like she could be
before. Today, most cities and famous for their dive regions have their clubs
and shops, offering filling tanks, equipment and training.

In tropical and subtropical areas of the world, there
is a wide market for "holiday divers", a category of divers who train
and dive during the holidays, sometimes in remote destinations (Red Sea,
Caribbean, Polynesia , Philippines ) but rarely dive close
to home.

The use of Nitrox and rebreather is currently
increasing, particularly in areas where the wreck diving deeper is the main
type of diving. In general, the depth of recreational diving is limited to a
maximum of 30 - 40 meters (the scuba diving is limited to 60 meters in France),
depth beyond which certain security problems appear (eg narcosis, cold and air
management); divers wishing to practice these dives must receive special
training, as well as more sophisticated equipment. They are no longer in the
context of recreational diving, but in the technical diving.
